Meet Tabitha

Tabitha Lewis is running for LaGrange City Council, District 2, because she believes local government works best when it listens first.

8 years in state government · 14 years with youth & families · LaGrange High School & LaGrange College Graduate

Raised and educated in LaGrange, this community has shaped every part of who I am. As a graduate of LaGrange High School and LaGrange College, and now a master's-level public policy professional pursuing my Ph.D., I understand how government works and how it impacts everyday people. With more than eight years in state government and fourteen years working directly with youth and families, my roots here run deep. I've watched this city grow, and I've watched which neighborhoods that growth reaches first.

My work across Troup County taught me that neighborhoods hold together because they're connected, not just because they're growing. I care about families and about the young people who don't always get asked what they need. Leadership, to me, means showing up consistently, not just campaigning well.

LaGrange is home. It's where I learned what community really means, and it's where I'm committed to giving my best every day. My hope is simple: a city whose systems actually work for the people living under them.

I'm running for City Council because LaGrange shaped me, and I'm committed to shaping a stronger, safer, more connected LaGrange for all of us.

Where Tabitha Stands

Three commitments guiding her campaign for District 2, and the City Council seat she's asking to earn.

Youth Engagement and Development

LaGrange's future depends on the young people growing up here today, and not every student is headed to a four-year degree. Tabitha will champion trade and apprenticeship partnerships between LaGrange City Schools, LaGrange College, and local employers, and back the mentorship programs and safe spaces that keep District 2's youth engaged, supported, and headed somewhere real.

Economic Development and Small Business

Kia and its suppliers have proven LaGrange can grow. Now the retail and amenities need to catch up. Tabitha will fight to bring real investment back to LaGrange Mall and the surrounding corridor, and support the local, minority-owned, and family businesses already carrying downtown, so growth creates opportunity on every block of District 2, not just the ones already thriving.

Affordable Housing and Responsible Growth

LaGrange is growing, and that's a good thing, but growth shouldn't mean pricing longtime neighbors out of the neighborhoods they built. Tabitha will push for responsible development standards, real affordable housing options for working families, and infrastructure that keeps pace with new rooftops, so District 2 keeps its small-town character even as the city keeps growing.
